Rob Pankratz
Rob Pankratz is a Vice President in the Public Finance Department at Wulff Hansen. He is also a registered Municipal Advisor Representative and Principal at Wulff, Hansen & Co. Mr. Pankratz is the firm’s lead Analytical Advisor. He runs numbers, performs industry research, analyzes financials, and presents recommendations and findings to Clients, Councils, and Boards of Directors. Mr. Pankratz has seven years of experience in public finance, all at Wulff Hansen, and has spent most of his tenure working with cities and special districts on critical infrastructure projects, refundings, and restructurings. Recently, he has spent extensive time working on water and sewer enterprise projects, energy efficiency initiatives, Community Facility District (CFD) projects, and non-profit healthcare financings. He has been a part of the Public Finance team at Wulff, Hansen since 2017, after a stint at a boutique mergers and acquisitions group in San Francisco that focused on full sales and large capital raises for high growth technology companies.
Mr. Pankratz has extensive experience working with complex financial models in the context of developing capital raising opportunities for both public entities throughout the State of California and for private and non-profit enterprises. Providing investment banking and municipal advisory services in the public finance area is a unique opportunity to help communities serve their citizens; this has a special appeal for him and is unlike anything in technology finance.
Mr. Pankratz takes pride in being an educational resource in the field of public finance to Wulff, Hansen & Co. clients. He regularly hosts educational sessions for Wulff Hansen clients and their staff members on topics like investor reporting requirements, annual State reporting requirements such as ADTR, Marks-Roos, etc., financial modeling tools such as the CalPERS pension outlook tool, and other public finance related topics. Through these sessions, Mr. Pankratz provides participating Wulff Hansen clients with the knowledge and skills required to execute financial models and recurring tasks that are otherwise typically outsourced to specialized consultants.
He holds a B.S. in Commerce from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University, where he had a concentration in Finance with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship and Applied Ethics. He is located in our San Rafael, California office.
